Scholarships

We have two scholarship options available exclusively for YouthBuild Charter School of California seniors and alumni who plan to attend college.

The Education Is Forever Scholarship is available to all YCSC alumni and graduating seniors who are either currently enrolled or planning to attend college in the fall. Students who are selected will receive a $500 - $1,000 scholarship and be paired with a mentor who will help them succeed in college. The application typically opens in April and scholarship recipients are announced before graduation in June. Check back here for updates in the spring if you are looking to apply.

The Janis Matero Arts Scholarship is awarded to YCSC alumni and graduating seniors who plan to pursue post-secondary education in the arts. Scholarships are typically between $500 - $1,000 depending on the year and how many students apply. Check back in the spring for updates on the application process.

In addition to these two scholarships, YouthBuild USA's Helene D. Stoneman Scholarship and Civic Leadership Scholarship grants $1,000-$2,000 to outstanding YouthBuild graduates to assist with their college education or the attainment of professional credentials. The scholarship seeks to recognize YouthBuild graduates who have been recognized for excellence in civic engagement, community leadership, and academic achievement, with special emphasis on the student’s academic promise.
