Scholarships

We have two scholarship options available exclusively for YouthBuild Charter School of California seniors and alumni who plan to attend college.

The Education Is Forever Scholarship is available to all YCSC graduating seniors who are planning to attend college. Students who are selected will receive a $500 - $1,000 scholarship and be paired with a mentor who will help them succeed in college. The application is currently open to all 2021 graduates of YCSC who plan to attend college in the summer/fall. Students can prepare their application responses ahead of time using this Toolkit. Applications are due by June 4, 2021. Click here to learn more.

The Janis Matero Arts Scholarship is awarded to YCSC alumni and graduating seniors who plan to pursue post-secondary education in the arts. Scholarships are typically between $500 - $1,000 depending on the year and how many students apply. Check back in the spring for updates on the application process.

In addition to these two scholarships, YouthBuild USA's Helene D. Stoneman Scholarship and Civic Leadership Scholarship grants $1,000-$2,000 to outstanding YouthBuild graduates to assist with their college education or the attainment of professional credentials. The scholarship seeks to recognize YouthBuild graduates who have been recognized for excellence in civic engagement, community leadership, and academic achievement, with special emphasis on the student’s academic promise.
