Important Update on CalFresh/EBT (10/27/25):

We have been monitoring the possible non-funding of CalFresh/EBT benefits starting as of November 1, 2025 due to the government's shutdown.  Many of our families who are dealing with homelessness have already received notification via letter regarding their CalFresh/EBT benefits.

For students experiencing homelessness (and at-risk families), we would encourage you to be aware of your local food banks and food supports for our SEH:

  1.  Use or have your families use the What I Need App to locate food banks near them or near our school site.  This app can be found in your APP store online.  Look up the "What I Need App" and set up the App to connect to your local area.  Or help your families connect to their local area.

  2. Use the Findhelp.org search engine at findhelp.org by findhelp - Search and Connect to Social Care.  You or the family only need their Zip Code to access resources near them.  Make sure to look at the resources prior to providing information to families to ensure the resource is still open, what times they are open, and what their eligibility might be.

  3. Homeless Resources - Shelter App - ShelterApp.org is another phone app that you or your families can us to access local food resources.

  4. Feed America also has a great map navigator to food resources here:  Find Your Local Food Bank | Feeding America
