YouthBuild Charter School of California graduate Montez Landing (South LA site, Class of 2017) shares his YouthBuild story.

the farthest I was just you know in high school was going to go to the high school photos of situations with my docket mother at the time so I couldn't take it so I moved out here to California was around August so School almost about to start a few weeks on and off Jason Phillips high school and they told me I was too old so I have to either go to down the street Sephora actually telling me to go to on paycheck and sign up for YouTube story just begins there before you girls all for you know the teacher didn't care you know they were just pass you along on my life you know how ugly that help you have a few teachers I just wanted to teach her throughout Elementary Andrew High School oh actually sit you down it really talk to you if you're going through issues and your wife actually be there for you I can only buy one for you and I feel like it was a family is there a call whenever I needed anything. who always there and he was really one person. He looked up to always wanted to be off of that person. Behind Administration I can see myself doing what he's doing also I'm another person Misty she was at the all people scientist time she was one of the most loving person ever if you having a bad day taking out at 2 talk to you soon as I see one person do this when she was a great person when I was doing my camper fully oh she'll be on my butt call Richard Dolan Montes why you saying download are you going to do something people like that you don't come by lot of kind of accident in your head and that's what I need it for me to be successful if someone that was going to help me feel like I had another person is Miss Celia people she was always blue always funny Halo games to shoot you down dad death stare and just be like you better be on it so that's the type of person that I needed also when it comes to that this you know being more professional when it comes to the classroom that even in a business don't ask Miss. She don't want to help me with that another person in the program before they even came to the school on Jeffrey without him I probably won't even be here you're free to have all your document I had to struggle just to get my ID because I was just here for like a good I don't feel once I was here for him good to know I didn't have no idea why I have no social security department birth certificate do with the show going to get those things and I was kind of late and it usually if you don't have that there's not the documents in the first 3 days baby beat you out onto the next one to test me then. help me out he gave me every day to get Brittany papers and I live here and he don't want to really help me start on starting my lights journey to graduation oh because it is so nobody is going to nobody is going to take this with all the others going to give you a virus in so you two things to help you to get things done they're going to help you but at the end of the day it's your job to do the work is your job to put the time in your job everybody told me he's got to play action me to do something get it done stop being a procrastinator and just continue its own goal is to graduate make sure every day you put that working for by that time comes you can graduate wondering is one of the biggest feeling ever won the biggest loser ever nobody can take that I did not this is a diploma do you have in your hand it's the actual felon in the actual moment that you know that you made it at that point cuz it's gay people that's 50 years old 40 years old that wasn't didn't have that chance to have that type of moment have that type of belt that they can have you had the opportunity and you got to be the one that chases you got to be the one to grab it what's the temperature in Johannesburg for the people that's in his program is going to help you so you can have that on it in your grass I wouldn't want to get my GED the other put it all the time and hard your work to get a high school diploma to get your GED he had one applicant had to do anything to have your high school diploma most likely are they going to choose that person that has a high school diploma over that GED potion I want to just friends you know I really wanted to go to college and go to college but I'm making a hard decision would you think about going to the Navy and I feel like it would be a great opportunity for me really have more discipline we have more structure and actually maybe they do pay for college even though I want to be a registered nurse so for that time cuz the longest further saving up my money for vehicle and a place to live for when I come, I can actually be ready little to get to where you want to be I graduated and you can do it too I came from adoption and I'll people that doubted me people that said I couldn't do this don't doubt yourself if you don't doubt yourself whatever they say it doesn't matter who Patrol goals rifle goes down turn it down to it but nowadays you got to have something under your belt and you're in your own hands so you can have a better opportunity we got to have that I'm there for you if you ever need me money long time London
