STEM Lab Ribbon Cutting

On March 18th, we proudly celebrated the ribbon cutting of our new STEM Lab at our YouthBuild Inland Empire San Bernardino site, marking the soft launch of our Advanced Manufacturing Pathway. Catering for the event was provided by YouthBuild Inland Empire's culinary arts students. It was a great opportunity for stakeholders and community members to see everything the STEM Lab has to offer and learn more about our newest CTE pathway in Advanced Manufacturing.

Beginning in Trimester 3 and fully opening in August, this pathway will provide students with hands-on learning and career exploration in high-demand manufacturing trades, starting with equipment like 3-D printers and a small CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machine as we continue to grow the lab.

In partnership with Technical Employment Training (TET), a San Bernardino-based training organization, we are supporting instructor development and building a pre-apprenticeship program that creates a direct pathway to employment after graduation from YCSC. This collaboration was made possible through connections with the CNC Career Network and a California Office of Youth Apprenticeship (COYA) grant, positioning TET as a registered state apprenticeship program and YCSC as a pre-apprenticeship partner.

A huge appreciation to William Clarke and Virginia Martínez of TET for making this vision a reality. Special thanks to San Bernardino Mayor Helen Tran for coming out to the event and to San Bernardino 5th District Supervisor Joe Baca Jr.’s Office for presenting us with certificates.
