Antelope Valley YouthBuild Hosts "Art Peace" Event

The Palmdale site's Art Peace event was held on March 20th, 2024. This Community Action Project had the goal of increasing engagement between learners and their families, enhancing creativity and self-awareness, and fostering a sense of community. It featured a vision board workshop, a designed community billboard, a painting workshop, photography, and a “Trashion Show,” where participants created clothing and accessories out of recycled materials. Students invited family and staff to be their models. The event was both educational and fun. It promoted creative expression, self-awareness, and community building through art. Check out photos and a video from the event, including Trashion Show looks, below.

Our Palmdale Site at Antelope Valley YouthBuild held a "Trashion Show" as part of their Trimester 2 CAP, Art Peace. As part of the show, students were challenged with making outfits out of recycled materials for their fellow students, staff, and family members to wear.
